How to Verify a Genuine JRM Agent and Avoid Counterfeits

Check 1: Find the name in the official directory

The Authorised 1Malaysia Distributor directory lists every verified agent with their location and social links. It can be searched by name, area or state.

If a seller's name is not in the directory, that does not automatically mean fraud — they may be an agent under a different state stockist. But it does mean you should ask more before paying.

Check 2: The KKM notification number on the packaging

Every health product legally sold in Malaysia must carry a Ministry of Health notification number. That number appears on the packaging, not only in advertising.

Ask for a photo of the actual packaging showing the number, not a marketing image. A seller who only sends polished promotional graphics and dodges this request should raise a question.

Check 3: A price that is too low

Margins on health products do not allow 50 or 60 percent discounts. When one appears, usually one of three things is happening: the product is near expiry, the product is counterfeit, or there is no product at all.

Compare against official pricing on the stockist site. Small promotional discounts are normal; half price is not.

Check 4: The payment method

Genuine agents accept payment into an account in their own name or through an official payment gateway. A request to pay an unrelated third-party account should stop the transaction.

Also avoid sellers pushing immediate payment with "limited stock, only now". Time pressure is the same technique used in most online scams.

Check 5: Willingness to be verified

This is the simplest and most effective check. Ask the agent for their full name, referral code and location. A genuine agent gives them without hesitation because that information is already public in the directory.

A seller who deflects, changes the subject, or blocks you after being asked has already answered you.

If you have already bought something questionable

Keep the packaging and the receipt. Contact the official stockist with photos of the packaging and the batch number. Counterfeits can usually be identified by print differences, holograms, or batch numbers that do not exist in manufacturer records.

Do not use a product you suspect is counterfeit, even if it looks identical. Nobody knows what is in an uncontrolled product, including the person who sold it.
